Titus is learning how to use the slot punch he just forged! The piece he’s punching will be his monkey tool and is great practice for making a hammer. The slot punch is 7/8”x1/8” on the end with rounded corners. So that will be the size of the slot when the hole is punched. After a few strikes the end of the punch is quenched in water to maintain the heat treatment he did. The monkey tool is rotated to help with the unevenness of punching a hole by hand.
