Voting in the Irish General Election continued into Friday evening after a quick campaign that focused on the country’s most pressing issues.

Police launched a probe earlier this year after it was reported that a number of men with links to Westminster had received unsolicited messages.

Surrey Police said the incident on June 15 had been thoroughly investigated as both a criminal and internal misconduct matter and had now concluded.
