Heilmer will be a familiar name for BMW fans as he’s been Mini’s design leader since 2017. Now, he’ll lead BMW’s more entry-level models, such as the 2 Series, 3 Series, X1, and X2.

Missoni's hiring is part of BMW styling boss Adrian van Hooydonk's sweeping reorganization of the division to create a cross-brand team "to meet changing demands for future-oriented vehicle design," the automaker said Sept. 13. The changes take effect Oct. 1.

Dukec replaces Anders Warming who has been moved to head BMW's Advanced Design team, responsible for concept design and BMW's design consultancy division. Warming takes over from Holger Hampf who fills Heilmer's seat at Mini.
