The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a 17-year-old male found dead in a barn in Tomball early Monday morning. According to OnScene TV, initial reports are that the teen was found unresponsive and several other teens were being detained in connection with the incident in the 19000 block of Stone Creek Court.

Several teens are being detained as part of the investigation. Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez released preliminary details about what happened. He said deputies responded to a report of a male being shot. When deputies arrived at the scene, they found a 16-year-old with a gunshot wound.

Several teens at the location may have been handling a pistol when it was unintentionally discharged, officials said.
