Was just told the news of the passing of Gerry Faust. what an absolutely wonderful person. Met him back in 1978 at Cincinnati Moeller 2 yrs later he took the Notre Dame job. Jumping from the high school ranks to lead one of the most storied programs in college football, he lost games but rarely lost hope.

Faust brought an outgoing personality and unwavering optimism that were refreshing. He deserved the fairytale everyone expected when he was hired.
