The Israel Defense Forces continued its intense airstrike and ground campaigns in Gaza -- particularly in the north of the strip -- and in Lebanon, with Israeli attacks on targets nationwide including in the capital Beirut.

Saturday’s attack completely demolished a multi-story building in a densely-populated neighborhood. Israel did not say who the strike’s target was.

The escalation comes after a U.S. envoy traveled to the region to pursue a deal to end months of fighting between Israel and Hezbollah.

A woman who was kidnapped and taken to the Gaza Strip died in an Israeli attack in northern Gaza, the military arm of Hamas said on Saturday. Abu Obaida, spokesman for the al-Qassam Brigades, said on Telegram that another female hostage was critically injured in the attack,

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu severely criticized the International Criminal Court for issuing arrest warrants against him and a former minister, and said his government won’t be deterred from continuing its war against Hamas in Gaza.
