Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has sat at the very top of the NBA MVP rankings over the last several weeks. This battle between him, Nikola Jokic, and Giannis Antetokounmpo has been close, but now there is a wide gap between Gilgeous-Alexander and the rest of the field.

With this performance, Shai also made NBA history. He became the only Canadian-born player to record multiple games with 50 or more points. Of course, he was tied with fellow Canadian-born player Jamal Murray of the Denver Nuggets with one 50-point game, but after his incredible performance Wednesday night, Shai now stands alone at the top.

More than halfway through the 2024-25 campaign, Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is the frontrunner to win MVP.
