The former NBC anchor noted the streamer did not have a decision desk and would be reporting when other news outlets made calls.

The light-on-production stream is especially fielding criticism for its “budget” equipment. “Election Night Live With Brian Williams has some budget tech,” one user wrote on X, in a jab at the household-sized TV powering state-by-state analysis.

Amazon has invested billions of dollars to buy expensive sports media rights and build out extensive cloud computing infrastructure required to stream NFL games and other live sports action for Prime members around the globe. The Seattle tech giant is now expanding its live streaming ambitions by venturing into news.
