Without Tom Wilson, Capitals look like a different team

Washington Capitals power forward Tom Wilson is questionable to return to Saturday’s game against the Chicago Blackhawks after leaving in the first period with a lower-body injury.
A Washington Capitals Olympian could have sustained an injury, potentially leading him to miss significant time this season.
Wilson, who earlier in the day was named a member of Canada's Olympic roster, got into a fight with Sam Carrick in the second period for at least his second Gordie Howe hat trick — a goal, an assist and a fight — since March 3, 2025.
It counted as the Rangers’ third loss in a row. Despite a two-point performance from Adam Fox in his return to the lineup, the Rangers let the Caps blow the game open in the third period. Just as one injury concern went away, however, two more popped up. Both Noah Laba and Conor Sheary exited the game in the second period with an injury.
