Australian breakdancer Raygun will not retire from professional competition following her viral 2024 Paris Olympics performance

Scene-stealing Australian Olympic breakdancer Raygun has made a cameo appearance on stage at a music concert, following her announcement earlier this week of her retirement from competition.

Bynum has already built quite the highlight reel of celebrations this season. He hit an Usher-inspired dance after an interception against the Texans in Week 3, did a backflip after a fumble recovery in Green Bay in Week 4, and then he and Josh Metellus went viral with the handshake from The Parent Trap in London in Week 5.

Raygun the Australian breakdancer endured so much in 2024 after her viral Paris Olympics performance despite gaining so many fans in the process, from parodies on the Tonight Show to the hate she received. So maybe it’s no surprise that she announced her retirement from the sport.

I’m not wildly into following sports, but I did find Raygun one of the highlights of this year’s Olympic lineup. Raygun, whose actual name is Rachael Gunn, is a 37-year-old Australian breakdancer who skyrocketed to fame back in August.

"I was going to keep competing, for sure, but that seems really difficult for me to do now to approach a battle," the Australian dancer said.
