ESPN NBA reporter Adrian Wojnarowski is retiring from broadcasting to return to his alma mater, St. Bonaventure, to take over the newly created position of general manager of the men’s basketball program.

ESPN’s senior NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski is retiring from the news industry to become general manager of the men’s basketball team at St. Bonaventure University.

Wojnarowski has worked at ESPN since 2017, and his decision to retire came even while he was still under a contract he signed with the broadcaster in 2022.

By leaving his role, Wojnarowski is walking away from $20 million with ESPN, multiple people briefed on the move said.

Wojnarowski's duties will include focusing on name, image and likeness opportunities, transfer portal management, recruiting and alumni player relationships.

Wojnarowski, famous for his frequent scoops known as “Woj Bombs,” is leaving ESPN to take a job in the athletic department at St. Bonaventure University, his alma mater.
