The Chicago Cubs bench is shaping up to look a bit different next year. The organization nontendered outfielder Mike Tauchman and infielder Nick Madrigal before Friday’s 7 p.m. deadline, making them free agents.

Cubs have non-tendered OF Mike Tauchman and IF Nick Madrigal. LHP Justin Steele, 3B Isaac Parades, RHP Nate Pearson and RHP Eli Morgan have been tendered contracts. Cubs also agreed to terms with RHPs Julian Merryweather and Keegan Thompson and C Matt Thaiss.

Outfielder Gavin Sheets and infielder Nick Madrigal were non-tendered Friday by the White Sox and Cubs, respectively Friday, bringing both players' multi-year tenures with the clubs to an end.
