In a rather shocking development, former Las Vegas Raiders and New York Giants star tight end Darren Waller is ending his retirement to play for the Miami Dolphins. More news: Dolphins' Tyreek Hill Has Perfect Response to Jalen Ramsey, Jonnu Smith Trade

The Dolphins executed a trade with the New York Giants to bring Darren Waller out of retirement and to South Beach on a one-year deal that's reportedly worth up to $5 million. Miami sent a 2026 sixth-round pick to New York in exchange for Waller and a conditional 2027 seventh-round pick.

The Giants’ return for Waller has not yet been reported. Waller hauled in 52 catches for 552 yards and one touchdown with the Giants in 2023 after a five-year stint with the Raiders. The Landover, Md. native spent the first two seasons of his career with the Ravens in 2015 and 2016.
