An Armstrong County man will spend 25 to 50 years in prison for providing fentanyl-laced cocaine that led to the overdose death of another man in 2020, Attorney General Michelle Henry announced Friday.

Malik Johnston defied repeated calls for his resignation from the Flemington Borough Council and his term on the governing body ended Dec. 31.

In a plea deal with prosecutors, the former councilman admitted to selling cocaine and had a theft charge dropped.

Max Gonzalez, a 17-year-old South Medford High School student, had asked his stepbrother for some “percs,” slang for Percocet pills. His 20-year-old stepbrother, Hunter Fenstermaker, took Gonzalez with him to the home of his dealer and paid $30 for one pill.
