Monitors with an area bird tracking organization say that they've determined that a number of ducks have succumbed to bird flu​ along Lake Michigan.

As of Monday, Feb. 3, the CDC reported nearly 150 million birds had been infected across 1,490 outbreaks since January 2022. Michigan residents with domestic birds should take these steps to protect them from infection: Prevent contact between domestic and wild birds by bringing them indoors or ensuring their outdoor area is fully enclosed.
