He's the No. 15 quarterback in the nation and No. 164 prospect nationally overall. Smith, who attends Bishop Verot Catholic High School, is also listed as a four-star prospect by On3, ESPN and Rivals.

According to a post by Rivals’ Jon McNamara, quarterback Carter Smith, the 92nd-ranked player in the 2025 class, has flipped his commitment from Michigan to Wisconsin after taking an official visit to Madison during their 16-13 loss to Oregon last weekend.

Rivals.com lists Smith as a four-star recruit and ranks him as the third-best dual threat quarterback in the 2025 class. Smith originally committed to Michigan, but decommitted in late October. Smith visited Wisconsin on November 15 before committing to the Badgers on November 24.
