Adani Power Limited (APL), India’s largest private thermal power producer will sign a long-term Power Supply Agreement (PSA) with MSEDCL for supply of 1496 MW (net) thermal power to Maharashtra state from a new 1600 MW Ultra-supercritical thermal power project.

Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) and Adani Power Ltd (APL) have won the bid to supply 6,600 MW of hybrid solar and thermal power to Maharashtra, it was announced on Sunday.

Adani Group won a bid to supply 6,600 MW of bundled renewable and thermal power to Maharashtra. The winning bid was ₹4.08 per unit, beating JSW Energy and Torrent Power. The project involves a 25-year agreement and will begin supplies within 48 months of the letter of intent.

Adani Power and Adani Green Energy shares surged after securing a Letter of Intent for a combined 6,600 MW of hybrid solar and thermal power from Maharashtra State DISCOM.

Shares of Adani Power and Adani Green surged nearly 5% after securing LOIs from MSEDCL for 6,600 MW of hybrid solar and thermal power. Adani Enterprises also saw a 2% rise.

Adani Green Energy will supply 5 GW (or 5,000 MW) of solar power to Maharashtra, while Adani Power will provide 1,496 MW (net) thermal power to the state.

Adani Power and Adani Green Energy will sign separate contracts with MSEDCL for their respective supply component as permitted under the tender conditions.
