VANCOUVER – JJ Peterka set up Juri Kulich's tying goal midway through the third period and scored the game-winner with 6:27 left as the Buffalo Sabres rallied for two goals to beat the Vancouver Canucks, 3-2, Tuesday night in Rogers Arena.

Vancouver surrendered twof third-period goals by JJ Peterka and a poor Buffalo team playing in the second leg of a back-to-back.

Kulich’s final faceoff of the night came with 18 seconds remaining and the Sabres clinging to a one-goal lead in a game they desperately needed. His opponent, J.T. Miller, entered the night with a 58.7-percent success rate in the circle. Kulich won the draw and, seconds later, cleared the puck out of the defensive zone.

Sabres rookie Jiri Kulich had a goal and two assists centering the top line in Tuesday night’s 3-2 comeback win on the road against the Vancouver Canucks. Kulich tipped in JJ Peterka’s shot for the tying goal at 8:42 into the third period.

The Capitals are holding on to the No. 1 spot despite an average week but it's getting crowded at the top of the rankings.

At or near the bottom of their respective conferences, the Sabres host the Predators on Friday night. Both of these teams own 43 points, which puts Buffalo last in the Eastern Conference, and Nashville third from the bottom in the West.
