MAINE, USA — Slick road conditions Wednesday morning led to multiple crashes across the state. One crash on Sabattus Street in Lewiston brought down utility lines, making for a messy situation. The road was closed in the area for multiple hours but has since reopened.

Maine State Police said the chase ended when the vehicle crashed at the intersection of Range Road and E. Dover Road in Dover Foxcroft. Two men get out of the car and ran into the woods while a woman remained in the vehicle with injuries.

The 11-member deadly force review panel examined eight police shootings in 2024 and is recommending agencies work on preventing harm.

The cases are related to an apartment at 100 College Street, police said. After serving a search warrant, police detained eight teenagers.

GARDINER, Maine (WGME) -- A Maine man is dead after a crash on I-95 in Sidney. Maine State Police say a Nissan pickup truck driven by 69-year-old Philip Marson of Gardiner went off the road and crashed into some trees in the median on I-95 southbound around 7 a.m.

A father-son pair of commercial fishermen went missing Saturday night off the coast of northern Maine, authorities said.

A Maine man was killed in an explosion Friday while using a propane torch to thaw a frozen water tank on a commercial truck, according to Maine State Police. Kerry Holmes, 66, was pronounced dead at the scene of the explosion in Molunkus, a township in Aroostook County in northern Maine, State Police said in a statement.
