The band played “This will Be,” a song released in 1975 by Natalie Cole — a UMass Amherst alumna — while in the Macy’s Herald Square where cameras captured the parade and broadcasted it live.

Although the band and baton twirlers marched in the parade in 2013, this year, the 21-member dance team will join them on Thanksgiving Day in New York City.

To see the Minutemen Marching Band in the parade, tune in to the live telecast on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28, from 8:30 a.m. to noon on NBC or CBS. The event will also be available to stream for Peacock subscribers and Fubo subscribers.

Some Pittsburgh-area college students will be part of a performance of a lifetime Thursday, taking part in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade with the West Virginia University marching band. The students traveled nearly 400 miles from the Mountain State of West Virginia to the Big Apple.

The University of South Carolina’s marching band, The Carolina Band, made its debut in the 98th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. This marked the band’s first appearance in the annual parade held in New York City.

The Carolina Band, aka the Mighty Sound of the Southeast, will play the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and host a meet-up in NYC's Mason Jar bar on Nov. 28
