Amul has lodged an FIR over a ‘misinformation campaign’ that the company supplied ghee that allegedly contained ‘animal fat’ to the Tirupati Balaji temple in Andhra Pradesh, a top executive of the Gujarat-based dairy giant said on Saturday.

Amul has filed a complaint with Ahmedabad Cyber Crime Police against false social media claims alleging that its ghee, used in Tirupati temple's prasadam laddoos, contains animal fat. Amul clarified it never supplied ghee to the temple and emphasized that their product undergoes stringent quality checks.
