Hitting the road for Thanksgiving travel in New England? Be prepared for two rounds of wet weather this week, including a possible winter storm on Thursday.

With very cold northwest flow in the Upper Midwest, the storm track for the U.S. will remain to our south and will be reasonably active with a couple storms traversing the country. However, these storms look to move fairly quickly and are not likely to impact major airport hubs during the peak daylight travel times for the most part.

The FOX Forecast Center is monitoring the potential for a powerful winter storm to slam the Northeast on Thanksgiving, with snow possible in interior sections of the region and more rain closer to the coast along the Interstate 95 corridor that could put the brakes on post-Thanksgiving travel.

Two separate storm systems carrying heavy rain are expected to impact the busy Thanksgiving holiday travel in New York City, and the second one could even bring some snow to parts of the Tri-State area.
