Wet weather and cool temperatures are expected for much of New Jersey for Thanksgiving this year. According to the National Weather Service, the rain that has settled over the metropolitan region is expected to linger until late Thursday afternoon before moving out from west to east around 5 p.m.

The holiday coincides with an artic blast that will plunge temperatures to 15- 25 degrees below average in the Great Lakes region and will bring rain to the East Coast, including New Jersey, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) said in an advisory.
