Ippei Mizuhara, ex-interpreter of Shohei Ohtani, pleaded guilty in June to spending millions from Ohtani’s bank account to cover his growing gambling bets and debts with an illegal bookmaker.

The Los Angeles Dodgers star Ohtani has petitioned a federal judge this week for ownership of $325,000 worth of baseball cards that were allegedly purchased fraudulently by his ex-interpreter Mizuhara, Noah Furtado of The Athletic reported Wednesday.

Shohei Ohtani is petitioning a judge to get ownership of $325,000 worth of baseball cards he says were purchased by Ippei Mizuhara, the baseball star’s former interpreter, using Ohtani’s money. Mizuhara pled guilty in federal court to stealing nearly $17 million from Ohtani earlier this year,
