Pennsylvania’s two U.S. senators split their votes on the controversial Trump tax bill that cuts $1 trillion from Medicaid, while giving billions in tax breaks, mostly for the wealthy. Sen. John Fetterman did not just vote no on the bill, he voted “hell no,” according to his office.

Trump’s sweeping economic package narrowly passed the Republican-controlled Senate on Tuesday, with Vice President JD Vance casting a tiebreaking vote. And McCormick’s support, though never in question, was essential for Republicans to reach a 50-50 tie. Sen. John Fetterman, a Democrat, voted against the bill.

“This bill is the biggest transfer of wealth from the working class to the 1% and Fetterman’s message to voter is that he just wants to go home,” Joe Calvello wrote.
