Members of UAW Local 2209 at the GM Fort Wayne facility in Indiana have voted to authorize a strike, with a little over 75 percent of those voting in support the measure.

They aren’t on strike, but they could be called on to walk out if UAW leadership taps Local 2209 to participate in strikes happening now at selected sites.

The UAW Local 2209 is seeking approval from to go on strike at the GM Fort Wayne pickup truck assembly plant over disputes around seniority and temp workers.

"They could fall backwards on everything they agreed to," said UAW Local 2209 Shop Chairman Rich LeTourneau. "I've seen that before, when they think the pressure's off" and go back to "bad habits.
