Three Mile Island nuclear plant reopening as part of Microsoft deal to power AI
Nuclear energy has a complicated history in the United States, due in large part of Three Mile Island itself. In the 20th century, it was billed as a clean energy of the future but the partial meltdown of TMI's Unit 2 in 1979 soured public support and helped dampen many other proposed nuclear plants.
