The Macklin Celebrini era for the San Jose Sharks got off to a fast start on Thursday. The forward, selected No. 1 by the Sharks in the 2024 NHL Draft, said he enjoyed the rigorous pace of his first NHL practice set by new coach Ryan Warsofsky.

The San Jose Sharks opened training camp Thursday without four injured players, including goalie prospect Yaroslav Askarov, who is out with a lower-body injury, the team announced Thursday morning before taking the ice.

Perhaps no one inside the Sharks organization is more eager to play a hockey game right now than the No. 1 overall draft pick.
