Hochul wants to keep the program, which has resulted in 1 million fewer vehicles entering the congested spots in Manhattan since its start on Jan.

New York City’s congestion pricing program has been in effect for nearly a month, charging drivers $9 to enter Manhattan south of 60th Street. While some residents say traffic has improved, the Trump administration is reportedly considering pulling federal approval for the tolling plan.

The Donald Trump Department of Transportation is actively considering its options to kill New York’s congestion pricing plan, just three weeks after it started, two sources told The New York Times. The paper reported Thursday that the Trump administration is weighing whether it can pull the plug on “a key federal authorization” granted by the Biden administration last year.
