Unbeaten Oregon is the No. 1 team in the first rankings released by the College Football Playoff selection committee on ESPN on Tuesday night, followed by Ohio State, Georgia, Miami and Texas.

A 13-member selection panel released its first top-25 list, and saw what most of the country has seen this year -- that the Ducks are the best in the country.

On Tuesday night, the College Football Playoff (CFP) committee released the first installment of its rankings for the 2024 season. In the first year of the 12-team system, there was plenty of uncertainty about how the committee would rank the contending teams.
