Frontiers sounds like it'll add updates to its endgame content to make it more compelling to revisit after its initial launch.

Destiny 2 is scaling back its raid plans with the arrival of Frontiers next year, which will have just one, no reprised one (RIP Wrath of the Machine).

Vesper’s Host will feature a Dungeon race wherein teams of three will race to be the first to complete the activity. It’s worth noting that Dungeon content is designed to be completed alone and as such it’s generally not meant to be as tough as a Raid. To fix this, Bungie is introducing Contest Mode.

There was some debate about a new roadmap for Destiny 2’s New Frontiers era which said it would have “raids and dungeons” in its expansions over the course of the year.
