The case of an avulsion fracture occurring in an 18 year old athlete after repeated running is presented. The fracture involved the tensor fascia lata muscle and the external oblique abdominal muscle.
Typically, the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve exits the abdomen medial to the anterior superior iliac spine, deep to the inguinal ligament and in a groove between the sartorius and iliacus muscles.
Anterior inferior iliac spine avulsion fracture in adolescent remains a little known entity. We report identical fractures sustained 1 year apart in twin brothers with the same mechanism.
