The actress noted that comments about disliking Nessarose are one thing, but people joking they want to push her out of her wheelchair is something else entirely.

She plays Elphaba's favored sister Nessarose and recently, she took to TikTok to call out the "deeply uncomfortable" jokes people have been making about Nessa's disability. For context, Nessarose uses a wheelchair in Wicked. Marissa also uses a wheelchair in real life after a traffic accident at age 11 left her paralyzed from the waist down.
