A house fire in West Lafayette left one man dead Tuesday morning. A Tippecanoe County sheriff's deputy arrived at a house on the 100 block of Blueberry Lane about 9:30 a.m. after a caller reported a fire, police said. The deputy was met with thick black smoke throughout the interior and found a dead animal in the entryway.

Wabash Township firefighters found a man dead in a house fire Tuesday morning, Deputy Fire Chief Jim Lewis said.
