Murray Sinclair, the Anishinaabe senator and renowned Manitoba lawyer who led the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, has died.

Murray Sinclair, a former First Nation judge, senator and chair of the commission that delved into Canada’s troubled history of residential schools for First Nations students, has died.

Sinclair travelled the country for six years hearing the stories of survivors of residential schools for the commission, which produced 94 calls to action.
