Flood alerts have been issued in Surrey due to rising river levels as a result of Storm Bert. The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for wind until 21:00 GMT, with gusts of up to 50mph (80km/h) expected in some areas.

Several flood warnings and flood alerts have been issued across Bristol and Somerset as Storm Bert brings rain and strong winds to the region. The Environment Agency (EA) have listed nine red flood warnings and 24 orange flood alerts in areas across the county.

All trains from London to Devon and Cornwall have been cancelled as Storm Bert continues to bring flooding to the West Country. All GWR services between Paddington and Penzance have been stopped, with no replacement buses or any other form of transport available - and people are advised not to even attempt to travel.

Storm Bert is battering Devon and Cornwall with flood warnings in place, fallen trees across the region and many properties without power. The Environment Agency has issued 13 flood warnings and 33 flood alerts for Devon,

It comes as Storm Bert hit the UK in the early hours of Saturday morning, with the Met Office issuing a yellow rain warning across the south-west from 06.00 on Saturday, November 23, to 23.45 on Sunday, November 24.

Rail passengers in the north of England are being urged to check before they travel in the aftermath of Storm Bert. Northern said services between Workington and Lancaster were still unable to run in either direction due to flooding in the Ulverston area.

Storm Bert is set to strike the UK - with snow, rain and strong winds expected to cause travel disruption and potential flooding.

A safari park has closed for a second day as Storm Bert continues to batter parts of the West. Longleat in Wiltshire had hoped to reopen on Sunday but said it would remain closed due to damage caused overnight.
