The U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (U.S. DFC) is considering investing more than 4 billion zlotys ($975.7 million) to build the first nuclear plant in Poland, the Polish company involved in the programme said on Wednesday.

The Biden administration on Tuesday released a roadmap for plans to triple U.S. nuclear capacity by the middle of the century. The plan sets a goal of 200 gigawatts of new capacity by 2050, more than three times the 2020 capacity.

India's federal power minister on Tuesday asked the states that are away from coal resources to consider setting up nuclear-based power plants, besides identifying and listing of the power utilities to meet investments to support growing power demand.

"States should consider setting up nuclear power plants at the sites where coal-based thermal power plants have completed their life," the Union Minister told state governments, as per a statement issued by the Centre.
