The Chicago Bears fired head coach Matt Eberflus last week following the franchise's Thanksgiving Day clock management debacle that cost the the team a chance to tie the game against the Detroit Lions in the waning seconds of regulation.

Johnson wasn’t ready to say the Bears’ mistakes — from the ‘‘Fail Mary’’ against the Commanders to a blocked field goal against the Packers to the loss to the Lions — automatically would improve because they have a new man in charge for the next five games.

The Bears have talked about the type of candidate they're looking for as the team's next head coach, and Jaylon Johnson is on board with it.
