Jensen Huang recently said that AI was more of an infrastructure than a group of chips. Now, Microsoft (MSFT) and BlackRock are partnering to fund AI infrastructure in the U.S. On Sept. 17 the software stalwart and the asset-management titan said they'd join the Global Artificial Intelligence Infrastructure Investment Partnership,

The partnership, called the Global AI Infrastructure Investment Partnership, will additionally build out energy infrastructure to create power sources for the facilities, the companies said.

Investors hoping artificial intelligence will be a big driver of returns this decade may not yet have picked up that AI isn’t really about machines becoming smarter than humans, or robots stealing jobs.
