We are hopefully going to bled in solvenia in September .we are having a day at Ljubljana I did read some body had fish and chip in a restaurant beside canel they said it was really nice , one of our friends only eats fish.would be nice to get restaurant name and where it is .

You will have a great time. Don't miss lake bled and surrounding area and castle. There are a number of companies that provide well structured enjoyable bus trips, with very personable and informative guides which the tourist information centre helped us with. There is a great Lebanese restaurant just over the Dragon Bridge from the old town, which has very authentic and cheap meals (so good we went twice). Don't be afraid to drop into the old army barracks where an "illegal" squat of artists has been set up. Be sure to take a gold coin donation. Hope this helps. Ljubljana is a wonderful, friendly and beautiful city. You will love it.
