Inhabitants of Cancale are called Cancalais in French. Cancale is located at the western end of the bay of Mont-Saint-Michel, on the coasts of Ille-et-Vilaine, fifteen kilometers east of Saint-Malo. The bay of Cancale is delimited by the pointe des Roches Noires in the south and the pointe des Crolles in the north.
