Re: P0300 Random Multiple misfire Post by VStar650CL » Mon Nov 01, 2021 9:41 am If one coil was bad for sure, then the first thing you should do is a voltage-drop test on your block ground and the individual coil grounds. Bad grounding heats up the N-channel transistors inside COP coils and causes "warts" and eventual failures.

Re: QX56 P0300 multiple misfire… God Help me… Post by VStar650CL » Mon May 30, 2022 3:38 pm Your ride has push-pull injectors, so pretty much the only way a cylinder can flood with fuel is a mechanically stuck injector or a lack of ignition. "Rich" would just make it crappy and sooty but not wet. So that actually eliminates a lot of stuff.

P0300 code random misfire... - LS1
However, the code P0300 displays as "random/multiple cylinder misfire detected" which means its more than one. The symptoms are just like I've experienced on outboard motors when I've had a coil go bad--intermittant misfire and then within a few days it gets worse to where it totally fails.

This has been the culprit all along, I think, causing erratic O2 readings in Bank 2 and triggering pending P0300 and P0174 lean condition.

Non NGK plugs can be problematic at times with Nissan/Infiniti engines. So instead of replacing the coils (expensive), change the spark plugs first.
