They bolt to the transmission from a Samurai to get a RWD setup, and engine/transmission together weigh like 220 pounds or something ridiculously light, and the DOHC version cranked out 130 horsepower and was short. But they are nearly impossible to find.

WEBNov 9, 2014 — Re: Engine Swap Options. The important differences between the GT6 and TR6 engines as far as fitting into a Spitfire goes are: (1) the GT6 engine has a shorter stroke and so the oil pan fits with no trouble, and (2) the GT6 intake manifold is configured to fit under the bonnet.

WEBNov 9, 2015 — Re: Proper weight & brand of oil for spitfire 1500. Mobile One 15w-50 was a good choice. A 10W40 is probably better for your engine if it doesn't get too hot, i.e over 212F for too long. Forget mineral oil, its old tech. Use a good quality ester synthetic oil; will protect better. Use a "motor sport" oil if ZDDP, or lack of it worries you.

WEBFeb 14, 2013 — ok the question is anwsered.i do fit in a spitfire,lol.although it is a tight squeeze lol.i have plenty of leg room in fact if i wanted to i could move the pedals back 2-3" but i won't half to.i plan on moving the front chassis mount farther back and bolt the car down from the floorpan farther back from the firewall .this will allow the exhaust to be run the way i want it to be.
